Excavation & Underground Electrical Construction
Underground electrical construction, excavation and duct banks for municipal utilities, campuses and industrial facilities — electrical infrastructure, not general earthmoving.
Proud Union Electrical Contractor · Skilled union workforce

WITEC does underground electrical construction, excavation and duct banks, along with medium-voltage underground installation and electrical distribution. These capabilities support engineered electrical pathways for municipal utility projects, transportation systems and complex industrial sites.
WITEC Electrical is a union shop and union electrical contractor with a skilled union workforce. Our scope is electrical infrastructure excavation: conduit and raceway routes, duct banks and underground power systems. Trenching, site coordination and related civil interfaces are reviewed against the project documents; we do not offer unrestricted general civil excavation or broad earthmoving services.
Scope
What we install & service
Underground electrical pathways
- Excavation and duct bank installation for electrical infrastructure
- Conduits and raceways for underground electrical routes
- Trenching and site coordination where included in the electrical contract
Power & utility distribution
- Medium-voltage underground installation (601V–35kV)
- Underground utility electrical distribution
- Coordination of routes and electrical interfaces with utilities, engineers and site contractors
Project-dependent site scope
- Utility locates and existing-service verification responsibilities
- Excavation safety and site access requirements
- Backfill, compaction and surface restoration only where specified and assigned in the contract
Capabilities and site work are subject to project review, specifications and contract boundaries. Backfill and restoration are not included by default. No equipment fleet, excavation-specific certification or union local affiliation is represented here.
How we work
A clear, safe process
- 01
Define the boundaries
Review drawings, specifications, electrical routes and the division of responsibilities with the owner and site team.
- 02
Locate & plan safely
Confirm utility-locate responsibilities and site-specific excavation protections before work; existing services and access constraints inform the plan.
- 03
Coordinate installation
Sequence excavation, duct banks, conduits and underground electrical installation with utilities and other trades to the engineered requirements.
- 04
Confirm site closeout
Agree inspection, backfill, restoration and documentation requirements according to the assigned project scope.
FAQ
Excavation & Underground Electrical questions
Does WITEC offer general excavation or earthmoving?
No. This service is excavation for electrical infrastructure, such as underground conduits and duct banks. General civil excavation and broad earthmoving are not represented as WITEC services.
Are utility locates, backfill and restoration included?
Responsibilities for utility locates, excavation protections, backfill, compaction and restoration are confirmed during project review and defined in the contract. Do not assume these are included in every electrical proposal.
Can you bid municipal underground electrical projects?
Yes. Send drawings, specifications, route information and the bid date to info@witecinc.com or use our bid request page. WITEC’s medium-voltage underground capability is 601V–35kV; eligibility and exact scope require project review.
