Our role

Electrical scope — not process engineering

Water and wastewater facilities depend on electrical infrastructure that has to stay energized around the clock. WITEC's work covers the electrical side of these plants: bringing in and distributing power, controlling motors, keeping critical loads running during outages, and wiring the instruments that report what the process is doing.

We are clear about boundaries. Treatment process design, chemistry and plant operation belong to the owner, its operators and the engineer of record. Programming and SCADA configuration are typically provided by a system integrator. WITEC builds to the engineered design and coordinates closely with each of those parties.

WITEC’s April 24, 2026 capability statement lists pump station retrofits at Westside WWTP with Goodwin Brothers, and at Waldo and Blue River WWTP with Foley Company, all in Kansas City, Missouri. These verified scopes are distinct from the broader service possibilities below.

FAQ

Water & wastewater questions

Does WITEC design or operate water treatment processes?

No. WITEC is an electrical contractor. Process design, treatment chemistry and plant operation belong to the owner, its operators and the engineer of record. We build, upgrade and maintain the electrical systems that power and connect that process.

Can you work inside an operating treatment plant?

Yes. Work in operating plants is planned in phases with plant staff, with temporary power, bypass coordination and switching plans so treatment continues while equipment is replaced.

Do you program PLCs or SCADA systems?

Programming and SCADA integration are typically performed by the system integrator. WITEC installs and terminates instrumentation and control wiring, supports point-to-point checkout and coordinates with the integrator. Ask us about the specific scope on your project.

Do you bid municipal water and wastewater projects?

Yes. Send public bid invitations, plans and specifications through our bid request page or to info@witecinc.com. WITEC is MBE/DBE certified; verify current documentation and jurisdiction for your procurement.

Do you work on lift stations?

Yes. Lift and pump station electrical — service, pump control panels, level instrumentation wiring, standby generators and transfer switches — is part of our water and wastewater scope.

Is a capability statement available?

Request WITEC’s April 24, 2026 capability statement from John Rolls, President, at john@witecinc.com. Public procurement details are available on our capabilities page.
