What to Include When Inviting an Electrical Bid
A checklist for general contractors and owners to get accurate, comparable commercial electrical bids faster.
Why complete packages matter
Incomplete information forces bidders to add contingency or exclusions. A clear package helps you compare electrical bids on equal terms.
Checklist
- Current drawings (electrical, plus architectural and mechanical) and specifications
- Addenda issued to date
- Bid due date, time and delivery method
- Project schedule, phasing and site access constraints
- Owner-furnished vs. contractor-furnished equipment
- Requirements for bonding, prevailing wage or diversity participation
- Low-voltage, fire alarm and generator scope boundaries
- Pre-bid meeting and site visit details
